Fairy Light Effect

Trending this season : Little Black Dress #LBD

I’m calling out to all you “black is black” fans! Yes this one is for you guys…

I’ve been waiting for a while now to write about trends that are here to stay. So just few days back, I got the Vogue Edition for the Month and I was totally awed by Sonam Kapoor being styled in all black pieces, ooh she looked incredible and since BLACK is the color of the season I just thought why wait?

With the wedding and party season upon us, it’s time to dig deep into your closets and find that #LBD that has been your go to #OOTD and #fashion fix through the year 2016 is back with a bang! This surely is  music to my ears and an absolute favourite among many Fashionistas. Just ask Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Bella Hadid, they would definitely agree, in fact if you browse through their social media, you will find that Blacks are in!

Staring at Light

For today’s post I’m not just going to discuss the #LBD dress, but I also have some exciting trends to share as well.

So last year just before Christmas I decided to go on and shop like no one’s watching and got myself this really cute dress from Koovs.com and didn’t have to spend a fortune which was a big win for team #materialgirl. This year they have some stellar pieces which you must buy and to guide you I’ve shared some trends in the later half of this blog post, so stay put and don’t leave yet.

Black swan

Sophisticated design coupled with a sense of playfulness to set the mood right, this number is elegant and fun to sport for a night out. The plunging neckline and tulle net skirt design makes this an easy to slip in statement piece. For this look, I’ve paired this lovely dress with  my favourite Metro ankle strap heels and elegant silver neck piece with matching Earrings.

In the Limelight
Black is an iconic color which is a statement in itself and you may wanna fit in when sporting an all black outfit, but don’t be surprised if you’re the one standing out ! Black draws attention to one’s body type and makes you look leaner, so now you know why the boys can’t stop looking 🙂 more so the lesser you go to style your black ensemble, the more attractive you end up looking. Simple, sleek and boom haawt! Wear that confidence like armor and your sorted. Having said that, what draws my attention to this lovely dress is it’s simplicity and sleekness that brings out the confidence I’m looking for on days where I wanna think less about what to wear and more about who’s mind to mess with 😉

On a serious note, having a well-fit black dress just makes life simpler and this tulle skater dress does exactly that. The tulle net skirt makes this a playful addition to your evening dress..The midi length is quite contrary to the dress length I normally look for but my scepticism went away when I actually wore it. Now talking about the final touches to get this look, as you can see I’m sporting my glasses ( I have a number ) and a smokey eye for makeup to complete the look.

Poised in Black

Now moving onto the trends that are hitting the stores – ruffles, off shoulders and sheer, the black dress has been flaring these styles and I’m not at all surprised.

I am loving the latest trend of off shoulder buttoned dresses which are modest and stylish, making it look so easy and yet lets you flaunt your curvaceous body. I came across this lovely style a while ago and if you too wanna get your hands on this trend, just look up the Forever 21 clothing line or browse online and tell us what you think!

Another trend that’s been here for a while, also a personal favourite of mine, is the mesh style dresses available across all brands. What is even more beautiful is how embroidery and mesh are crowding the stores and are become a huge must have … I mean why not?? Embroidery and mesh doesn’t just look delicate but they also feel so right. I have looked up and found some really pretty pieces in black that you must go check on Shein.

Light it up

So this is what I think about Black being back and the IT color for the season, I hope at least a few of you agree, do tell me what you think by sharing your comments below
