Good day and welcome to another Tuesday with Material Girl and to one of my most exciting posts, The women’s work wear series.
Work being an integral part of our lives, has anyone of you experienced days wherein you don’t find anything to wear to work ? Guess what? I have some great news…. For today’s article, I’ve put together 4 trends that can make your work-wear work for you.. These are quick options that I’ve picked up from my closet. After going through the look-book below, pick your favorite and do recreate a similar look with clothes from your wardrobe
- Monochrome Mondays
How do you like your Monday’s? A busy day at work isn’t it? Change the mood a little and try something different to amp up your Monday madness!
We all are busy and a little dizzy on a rough Monday, so, relax and try something different. Not too drastic, like in this look I’ve chosen a simple Monochrome dress with stockings for a modest yet professional outfit that can be pulled off by anyone. This is an easy and very comfortable upgrade to look your best at those nail biting meetings with the boss or an important client.
If you work in a very corporate set up and have to dress formally most of your times, then stockings will help better your attire. I missed wearing the heels in this one, but a pair of moccasins or pumps will add to the beauty of this outfit.
- The Pop Chic
This one is specially put together for all the colorful and cheerful spirits at work, who love to experiment and be bold with their work wear. To make this look possible I’ve used my White Party Dress which I upgraded a notch with this pop printed blazer and flats to create a very urban yet pepped up look.
It’s a very easy way to upgrade your solid color one piece dress and Co-ords with a little layer of pop color jackets or sheer to give that edgy urban look a chance at work! It brings a vibrancy to your average grey and black in the office.
This works aptly on those wanting to create a lasting impression and for those who feel the need to experiment with their clothes. This blend will not only add zing to your wardrobe, but also save you a few bucks on spending on a suit.
Take Pink to Work
Ok not what you’re thinking! PINK is not all that bad and it’s easy to pull it off if worn in the right shade. To start off let me first talk about the Millennial PINK trend.
Millennial Pink is a shade of pink, not baby pink but close and has been in trend for a long time. You might have had possession of the shade for a while now, without knowing it’s trending 😛 I’m serious! So in this look I’ve used this shade of PINK in stripes for a shirt and a palazzo pant to create a tall silhouette that makes me look tall and lean. (A bit too lean in my case!)
So why this look? It’s a perfect blend of comfort and formal dressing! I like it mostly as I can tuck in any blouse / shirt in this pair of well fit palazzo pants, which are not tight – have an elastic fit, allowing me breathe easy. You can go for heels to complete this look.
This pink striped shirt is a pastel shade that pleases the eyes and steps up over the regular blocks and pale colors. So experiment with pastels and bright colors but also see that you don’t team block with block all the time. Instead blend stripes, checks, patterns etc. in your wardrobe.
- Power dress up
Are you person who likes to be prim and proper and with all your hair put back? This one is apt for you. Show your girl power with a sleek and tidy look that is clearly spot on.
White Shirts do it really well when you want to talk business. Unless you are clumsy and can’t manage a white shirt all day, then pick a different look. This is for the strong and the no fuss kind of girl who has it all figured out. A typical #girlboss
For this look I’ve put together a white shirt along with a pencil skirt in navy, with polka dot print and not just that, the high bun means serious business guys! Also wear your favorite pair of heels / sandals and you’re sorted for your big meeting, go fetch that big business deal 😀
I’m sure with this look you can even stamp your place in the big boss’ chair.
Now you know what you need to do ! So do share your comments / feedback below and stay tuned for next Tuesday for yet another Tuesday special
