It’s been a while since I took a break and let go for a bit, so a weekend away with friends to end 2017 was just what I needed. Goa never ceases to impress me with its scenic beaches, the clear skies and amazing people I’ve met. The second half of 2017 was all about focusing on things that mattered most to me. The blog, IG page, Roposo and now I’m also on Snapchat. This experience makes me wanting more and I feel positive to explore the year to come. 2018 is gonna only amplify my efforts and make Material Girl a better and more connected platform for readers.
The New Year Celebrations in Goa is all about celebrating the excitement of a New Beginning with family & friends and this year around I choose to do things differently. The beach is my haven. Every month there has to be that one trip to a nearby beach to hear the sound of the waves breaking at shore and to feel the pleasant breeze. Thus the beach will be my place of “New Beginnings” with a cool glass of wine, great laughs for company and the seaside music to set the mood.
Moving on to today’s topic, NYE is here and i’m super excited to celebrate it like a beach bum as always! So what better post than sharing my very own OOTD that is on point for a beach sundowner and to ring in #NewYear2018 hippie style.
So let me just go ahead and say how much I love Bralettes and I’m crushing on this particular one hand woven by my aunt after I looked up Forever21” for some references. As you can see she customized it to my measurements and that’s what made it all the more special for me.
This Crochet Bralette is the best fit to pull off a boho chic look. This ensemble was more of a stumbled upon look which I thought to put together as I didn’t wanna head out in shorts like most people would and also I wanted to wear the same outfit when I go out to dine post the sundowner. Easily accepted as relaxed resort wear, this piece is the best kind of investment to go all hippie and easy breezy this holiday season.
I like the combination of black & white and this piece was made to go with almost anything. I chose to team this beauty with a pair of palazzo pants by Koovs and my favourite beige flat sandals from Myntra. For jewellery I chose to carry a lightweight pair of danglers that would go with just about anything I wore through my stay. I also carried a shrug (Reliance Trends) along just to stay protected from the sun or if it got too cold later at night.
Many of you may want to go a little further to style this look and you can do so by wearing some junk jewellery or a waist belt with mirror work and a headgear for a very hippie, beach dame look ( will share something like this on Instagram someday!)
So here is the OOTD I pulled off and recommend this as a NYE look to all those who are not looking to doing a very formal dine and dance kind of celebration. This is a very easy night out outfit that requires just a well fit bralette teamed with your favourite pair of jeans/ palazzos or a pair of shorts. Carry a Oversized jacket in a pop color or in a sequin gold to complete the look and slay the dancefloor in you happy feet!
