Lured into the Azzure

A holiday in North Goa, is how we spent our weekend doing just about nothing amidst the chaos. No points for guessing, today’s post is about my staycation at Azzure by Spree, Calangute.

Placed well among the buzzing nightlife & beaches in Calangute, the Azzure by Spree Hotels offers best of both worlds. A cozy haven, set against a green carpeted backdrop of the fields.

Located off the highway, the hotel surrounded by lush green fields and just 1.3 km away from the famous Calangute beach. The hotel offers a decent parking space with a beautiful swimming pool to beat the heat. The sun-beds are just what you need to relax after a swim and dry off under the summer sun.

The structure dressed in a white and blue-themed decor reminds me of a little Mykonos city in Goa. All rooms come equipped with a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee-making facilities along with, my favourite – a minibar. 24-hour room service is available. We definitely enjoyed the view of the pool & the paddy fields from ours at Room #404. I loved the fact that we had large windows to bring in natural light making it just right for photos 🙂

The balcony facing the pool was our favourite for a romantic lunch date. Aviva – the poolside bar, serves lush cocktails and mocktails by the pool. It has a quaint seating area for all those who would like to indulge in sheesha in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed a hot pot of coffee with cookies…

The lobby at Azzure has a cozy lounge offering a mini library for those avid readers. It’s a great way to allow your hubby do the check in formalities while you drown yourself in a book.

Treat – the 24-hour Cafe and Buffet Restaurant serves a variety of Indian dishes. A buffet breakfast and option of buffet or a-la cart for the rest of the meals. We did speak to Joy from Azzure by Spree, who was kind enough to suggest their tandoori preparation. For dessert we just couldn’t resist the Gulaab Jamun & Brownie with ice cream – a must try.

For those of you wondering what about some rejuvenating experiences, I have to say, the spa was the highlight of my holiday. I made sure to get myself a head & shoulder massage followed by a foot massage. The head & Shoulder massage was about INR 1200/-. The foot massage ( reflexology ) came to about INR 1500/- . The massage was for about 30 minutes each. Not only was this a rejuvenating experience, but it sure was light on the pocket as well.

The rooms here are price at about INR 3700/- plus tax . While a junior suite costing anywhere around INR 5000/- plus taxes per night . This is definitely varies based on season and would vary on weekends & weekdays. Here is a link to the website to get more information on their rates

To sum it up, the holiday wouldn’t be complete without the sheer hospitality, the comfort and the warmth we received. Although it was a short stay, we are sure to visit again. I definitely recommend the same to all of you reading. It’s always great to come back to smiling faces! Thank you Azzure for the experience.
